Cate is an experienced attorney specializing in estate planning, probate, elder law, and real estate. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications from The University of Texas at Austin and earned her Juris Doctor, Magna Cum Laude, from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2020, attending as a night student while balancing family life.
Before entering the legal field, Cate had a dynamic career in arts management and IT consulting, drawing from her background as a former ballet and modern dancer and her communications degree. The sudden and profound loss of her parents inspired her to transition into law, where she combined her passion, advocacy skills, and attention to detail to serve clients thoughtfully and effectively.
During law school, Cate was inducted into the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society and received several honors and scholarships, including The John C. Hanny Memorial Scholarship and The Sandra and Martin Lax Endowed Scholarship, and Distinguished Academic Achievement Awards in multiple subjects. She also earned a Mediation Certificate and was selected for the Superior Classroom Performance Award.
Now with five years of legal experience, Cate had been recognized by Lawyers of Distinction for her excellence in Estate Planning in both 2024 and 2025. She actively contributes to her professional community as Co-Membership Chair of the Connecticut Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) and is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Trust and Estates and Elder Law Sections, as well as the Wethersfield Chamber of Commerce.
Cate lives in Connecticut with her husband, three sons, and two dogs. Among her proudest accomplishments is giving birth to her third son during her final semester of law school—a feat she jokingly advises others not to attempt!
